Mission Statement

Green Translations is actively committed to ecological and ethical causes. Our website hosting is powered by 100% wind energy, and we have reduced our own energy consumption and our CO2 emissions. We are members of Green America, and are certified by the Bay Area Green Business Program.

Every year, we focus on one specific environmental issue and donate a percentage of our revenue to an organization that is helping fight said issue. For 2016, the focus will be put on

In 2006, Nobel Laureate and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore got the world talking about climate change with the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth. It was just the beginning of a climate revolution, and later that year, he founded The Climate Reality Project to take the conversation forward and turn awareness into action.

The Climate Reality Project is a diverse group of passionate individuals who have come together to help solve the greatest challenge of our time. We are cultural leaders, marketers, organizers, scientists, storytellers and more, and we are committed to building a better future together.

In our efforts, we at Green Translations wonder what we could do to improve our world. We have been told many times to operate individually: competition is king, and it’s all about over-achievement and consumer-based needs. However, this doesn’t guarantee happiness: whoever dies with the most toys doesn’t always win.

There is a gap between the natural world and our current society. Many think the idea of natural selection is competitive rather than cooperative. However, Darwin said, “What humanity possess is the ability to cooperate, and sympathy is our greatest strength.” Human nature is geared toward empathy, entrenched in our sense of community. We work better together, and are connected with all life on the planet. . Our reality is the fruit of relationships between other outer parts. We have common genes with all species on Earth: plants, fish, mammals, etc.

We have to change our perception: we are not alone, and what we do influence everything around us, starting with tiny acts. In nature, nothing takes more than what it needs. If it does, it goes back to nature. The greatest spiritual leaders believed that love was a force to heal people from illnesses to save our world. “Critical thinking followed by action is the most important medication”, said the Dalai Lama. We must live with a sense of the communities we interact with and influence, both human and nature. We fiercely believe that only through real efforts can we turn things around and create a better world for all of us to live in.
