Foreign Interpreting Services

What is On-Site Interpreting?

On-site interpreting means there is an interpreter on the site, making sure there is clear communication and that everything being said is understandable between both parties.

Usually, this service requires the interpreter to travel to the destination where the service is needed. It is considered one of the most effective forms of interpretation, as having the interpreter face-to-face allows them to perceive any facial expressions and gestures, making the communication even more effective and accurate.

Consecutive Or Simultaneous Interpreting

Consecutive Or Simultaneous Interpreting?

There are two main types of On-Site Interpreting: consecutive and simultaneous interpreting.

In consecutive interpretation, the interpreter carefully listens to what the speaker is saying and only talks when there is a pause. This gives them enough time to process what was said and accurately translate the message into the target language. This type of interpretation usually works properly in contexts where it is allowed for the speaker to make small pauses such as one-on-one meetings or small gatherings.

In simultaneous interpretation, however, no pauses are allowed. The interpreter must listen to what the main speaker is saying while immediately translating it into the required target language, with only short seconds of delay.

Because of the fast response needed, simultaneous interpreters usually review speeches or other materials from previous meetings before the event to prepare.

This type of interpretation usually works best for live events with large audiences. In such circumstances, interpretation needs to happen in real-time as the speaker runs the risk of losing the audience's attention if they pause.

I wanted to thank you and your partners for providing excellent translation at our event yesterday. Your staff was professional and phenomenal!

What Is Sign Language Interpretation (ASL)?

Sign Language Interpretation (ASL) is the service through which an interpreter translates the message said through spoken language into sign language, making it accessible to your deaf or hard-of-hearing audiences.

The interpreter’s job is to mediate between those who use spoken language in your audience and those who use sign language, facilitating the communication between both parties and making sure the information is easily accessible to everyone.

At Green Translations, we have provided reliable and accurate ASL services to governments, agencies, schools, and universities nationwide. During the pandemic, we also offered ASL interpretation services to hospital and private practices to ensure hearing impaired communities had equitable access to healthcare services.

We understand how important it is to make sure everyone understands your message. That is why our team of qualified Sign Language Interpreters (ASL) is always ready to provide you with a professional, high-quality, and cost-effective solution to your interpretation requirements.

Why You Should Choose Us?

Industry Expertise

It is our belief that if an interpreter cannot fully understand what is being said, they will not be able to provide an error-free translation. That is why our project management team will only pair you with an on-site interpreter that has industry-level experience in your specific field. In such a manner, we ensure the interpreter will have a clear understanding of the terminology and jargon being used throughout the meeting, reducing the possibility of any mistranslations or mistakes.

Rigorous Standards

Certification standards for ASL interpreters are higher than for most spoken languages. That is why our interpreter cloud committee has individually vetted every interpreter on our team. In order to be accepted in our company, they must have received highly respected certifications in the interpretation field and have proven their proficiency according to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).

Confidentiality

We have the highest security measures in place to protect our clients. All of the interpreters have signed NDA’s, which means all the conversations and materials related to your project (financial documents, sensitive data, etc.) will remain confidential. In addition to this, we comply with the highest standards and guiding principles of the National Association of the Deaf (RID). Every interpreter at Green Translations has agreed to stand by the confidentiality principles stated in the RID Ethical Code of Professional Conduct, which clearly states that disclosing any information learned during a private meeting is strictly prohibited.

Personalized Approach

One of the significant advantages of using an on-site interpreter is its personal approach. It is one of the main reasons why on-site interpretation services are still in demand despite the growth of remote alternatives. There are some sensitive situations where the language and cultural barrier between two individuals cannot be overcome by remote interpretation. In those cases, having an interpreter physically in the room can help an individual feel more comfortable and build the trust and understanding needed to interpret a message accurately.

I wanted to let you know that your interpreter did a great job! He showed up on time, started interpreting right away, and kept checking in here and there to see if anyone had joined the line. That is exactly the customer service I hoped to procure by way of this process, for our Spanish speaking participants! Keep up the great work!

What About Remote Interpretation?

There are situations where the need for interpretation is urgent; there is not enough time to bring an interpreter to the location. In those moments, having an interpreter available over the phone or in a video conference call is the best possible option.
